We have been using these tasks for over a year, and it is the backbone of our curriculum. These ShoeboxTasks are used daily in our autism classroom to help support students’ learning a variety of skills including academic, fine visual motor control, and pre-vocational assembly. Our students demonstrate significant learning and behavior needs, including limited functional communication, sensory dysregulation, and joint attention issues. We love these Tasks because they promote independence while meeting the unique learning needs of our students. Our students require clear and concise work tasks, which ShoeboxTasks are perfect for. Additionally, many of our students find these tasks to be calming because they are close-ended and predictable. We have seen students make great strides in their ability to sit, attend to their work, and complete a wide range of tasks as a result of using shoe box tasks in our classroom.
